Welcome to the World of Tall Tales
What is Tall Tales?
Tall Tales is a fictional story told through a series of interconnected narratives. These are done as blogs on this page, available through the Navigation menu, footer links, or the Latest Updates section. The story can be categorized as adult urban fantasy (see Content below), which attempts to borrow from the style and tone of fairy tales. It is set in what is essentially our world; most of mankind in the world of Tall Tales experience their daily lives in the same way we do, assuming the same general natural laws, dealing with the same problems, living under the same authorities. The stories, however, follow the lives of people who interact with the backstage of reality, as it were. The basic assumption of Tall Tales is that, at least within the context of the story, reality is larger than the strictly physical and our lives are influenced to some degree by forces we cannot know without some direct revelation. For more information about Tall Tales' relationship to the real world, the music of Tall Tales, ways to support this story, and other places to find it, please see The Editor. There you will also find links to other stories and nonfiction writings by this author. |

While most posts are fine for general audiences, some of the stories in Tall Tales involve violence of various sorts and events suggestive of sexual activities (there are no actual descriptions of sexual content, but your thresholds are for you to decide). Some characters express views that I do not agree with and may make certain readers uncomfortable. This story is intended for audiences that can responsibly discern for themselves what they can handle. As such, it is generally advised that readers be at least 18 years old.
That said, I am aware that there may be times when I do not handle a sensitive topic in a manner that properly respects people who are sensitive to it. In such instances, please feel free to comment or contact me with your concerns and I will consider if such a change can be made while staying true to the nature of the scene. For instance, if a racist says something racist, you are meant to dislike them for it, and it will probably stay as is. If I say something that comes off as racist, I am open to correcting it.

The stories of Tall Tales are fictional or, in some select cases, fictionalized versions of personal experiences. Characters are not meant to represent any other persons, real or fictional, from any other source. Any accounts which bear similarity to personal experiences have been significantly reworked to fit the world, lore, and larger plot of Tall Tales and do not claim to accurately portray any events or individuals that may have been involved. Existing public domain folklore that is recreated for Tall Tales is similarly edited to fit the world, lore, and larger plot of Tall Tales and this story claims to own only those details which are original to this setting.
Tall Tales very much does not claim to accurately represent any religious belief system, Christian, pagan, or otherwise. Where details cannot be avoided, effort is put into making sure they do not grossly misrepresent the religion in question, and feedback on errors are welcome. It most especially reminds readers that the author does not teach any theological position that adheres to or justifies much of what happens in Tall Tales. The world of Tall Tales has different metaphysical rules than the real world and as such certain manifestations or revelations will work in one but not the other. Do not base your theology or your read of my theology on the works contained in Tall Tales.
